Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Lumina Commerce LLC (“we”, “us”) about your use of the Selfwritten app (the “App”). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What Selfwritten is

Selfwritten is a personal tool for writing and reading your own reminders, identity statements, values, goals, journal entries and letters. It is not therapy, medical care or a crisis service.

2. Not medical advice

Nothing in the App is medical, psychological or professional advice. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number. In the United States you can call or text 988.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your country, to use the App. The App does not require an account; your content is tied to your Apple ID through iCloud.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Selfwritten Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the App before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of a free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

5. Gift and offer codes

Codes that unlock Premium are redeemed through the App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms and any expiry date stated with the code. Codes have no cash value.

6. Your content

You own everything you write, record or add in the App. It is stored on your device and in your private iCloud. We do not have access to it, and we do not publish it.

7. Writing features

Polish and Create it for me use an artificial intelligence service to suggest text. Suggestions may be inaccurate or not suit you. Review them before you keep them, and do not submit information you would not want processed by that service.

8. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the App, including by attempting to reverse engineer it, interfere with its operation, or use it to break the law.

9. Our intellectual property

The App, its design, code and brand belong to us and our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms.

10. Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Where these Terms are silent, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will tell you in the App about material changes. Continuing to use the App means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
